The Hope Tech 4 V4 is a premium hydraulic disc brake system built for aggressive trail riding, enduro, downhill, freeride, and powerful e-MTBs. Drawing on over 25 years of brake engineering experience from Hope’s UK machine shop, the V4 represents the most powerful version of the Tech 4 series with a strong emphasis on braking force, modulation, and durability.

It features a precisely machined 4-piston caliper with a hybrid piston design (stainless steel with phenolic inserts) that balances robust stopping power with smooth action and reliable heat management under demanding conditions. The ergonomic lever has tool-free reach and bite-point adjustments, a hinged clamp for easy installation, and a larger fluid reservoir for consistent performance during long descents.

Compared with older models, the V4 delivers notably higher braking force (approx. 30 % increase over Tech 3) and refined leverage for confidence-inspiring control on steep, technical terrain. It’s designed for riders who demand maximum stopping power without sacrificing modulation and adjustability.
